Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators have landed one of the top athletes in the 2021 recruiting cycle. Four-star all-purpose back Brashard Smith announced he has verbally committed to the University of Florida. Smith is one of a few Miami Palmetto High School recruits Florida is after. Smith is one of the most versatile players in his class as he can play both running back and wide receiver at the collegiate level. Brashard Smith is the ninth 2021 recruit to commit to the Florida Gators 2021 recruiting class with Carlos Del Rio, Clinton Burton, Chief Borders, Kamar Wilcoxson, Christopher Thomas, Tyreak Sapp, Javonte Gardner and George Jackson. He’s the fourth offensive commit in the class with George Jackson, Carlos Del Rio and Javonte Gardner.

Brashard Smith is a four-star all-purpose back out of Miami Palmetto High School in Miami, Florida. The newest Florida commit is one of the most highly recruited players in the 2021 class. During his recruitment, Smith has received 29 offers from some of the top programs in the country. Smith has offers from schools like Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Minnesota, Penn State, Tennessee and West Virginia. On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Smith is the 332nd raked player in the country and the fourth ranked all-purpose back in the country. On Rivals, Smith received a 5.8 rating and is the fifth ranked all-purpose back in the country.
Brashard Smith is a 5’9” 180 pound all-purpose back. Watching Smith’s film, the first thing that jumps out at you is his speed. Smith is very explosive with the ball in his hands and has a really good burst. He has very good hands and is the type of player you find ways to get him the ball. Smith is an exciting player to watch and is a very nice addition in the Florida Gators 2021 recruiting. Smith might project better to be a slot receiver at Florida since they don’t have a true slot on their roster except for Kadarius Toney. This is a very good pick up for Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators.
