It was a good night for the Florida Gators at Alfred A. McKethan Stadium as Florida completed their sweep against UNF. The Florida Gators defeated the North Florida Ospreys 8-3 in their series finale Wednesday night. It was also a great night for the Gators at the plate as they had double digit hits and multiple home runs. Freshman RHP Tommy Mace got the start for the Gators but it wasn’t his best night. It was good game overall for the Gators as they teed off the UNF bullpen and played good defense.
It was a rough night for the North Florida Ospreys as they drop their second game to Florida Gators. UNF had solid starting pitching thanks to a good performance by left-handed pitcher Austin Drury. The junior threw 3.2 innings allowing two hits, two runs, a walk and five strikeouts. Unfortunately for UNF, their bullpen struggled as the Gators scored the majority of their runs were scored off the bullpen. Trace Norkus really struggled as he allowed five hits and three runs in one inning of work. Nick Marchese also got hit hard as he allowed three hits, two runs in 0.1 inning. UNF did get some production at the plate as a few guys hit well against the Gators. Tanner Murphy went 1-4 with a solo home run. Raff Libunao went 2-4 with two base knocks.

The Florida Gators stay perfect at home as the Gators swept the UNF Ospreys 8-3. Freshman right-handed Tommy Mace got the start for the Gators Wednesday night. Mace pitched 3.2 innings allowing two hits, two runs (one earned), no walks and two strikeouts. Sophomore LHP Andrew Baker dominated in relief as he threw 2.1 innings allowing no hits, no runs, no walks and five strikeouts. Baker also earned his first win of the season. It was a pretty decent outing for the pitchers but the Gators offense was at its best. Florida had a lot of big hits in the game including four home runs. Wil Dalton went 3-5 with three singles. JJ Schwarz went 1-3 with a two-run home run and three RBIs. Jonathan India went 3-4 with two solo home runs. Freshman Brady Smith also hit his first collegiate home run as he went 1-4.
The #1 Florida Gators will take a day off before they start their weekend series against the Stony Brook Seawolves. Stony Brook started off their season with a 6-1 record. The Florida Gators will start their ace pitcher Brady Singer as he coming off a big win against Miami last Friday. Singer is considered to be the top collegiate pitcher in the country and the potential #1 overall pick. Stony Brook will also hand the ball to their ace Brian Herrmann.
