Mike White and the Florida Gators have landed their first high school recruit in their 2020 recruiting class. Four-star small forward Samson Ruzhentsev announced that he has verbally commitment to the University of Florida on Twitter. Ruzhentsev is one of the international basketball recruit that has moved to the United States. Samson Ruzhentsev is the second commit in the Florida Gators 2020 recruiting class with power forward Osayi Osifo. He is the only small forward committed to the Florida Gators 2020 recruiting class.

Samson Ruzhentsev is a four-star small forward out of Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Samson Ruzhentsev is a Russian native. He was born and raised in Moscow, Russia and plays for Russia’s national team. During his recruitment, Ruzhentsev has received 12 offers from some of the top basketball programs in the country. Samson Ruzhentsev had offers from schools like Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas State, Ole Miss, Stanford and Tennessee. On 247 Sports, Samson Ruzhentsev is the 53rd ranked recruit and the 14th ranked small forward in the country. Samson Ruzhentsev is a 6’7” 210 pound small forward. The newest Florida commit is an athletic small forward with good size and lots of upside. Ruzhentsev is a player with a high basketball IQ and has a great feel for the game. He plays good defense and will continue to improve once he starts to fill in his frame. Good shooting mechanics and has lots of confidence in his shot. Ruzhentsev’s development will be determine if he’s going to be a solid player at Florida or an NBA caliber player. This is a nice pickup for Mike White and the Florida Gators basketball program.
