The Florida Gators had an offensive explosive Saturday night as they routed the Alabama Crimson Tide 12-3. This win clinches the first series win for the Florida Gators have won in conference play. Florida’s offense had a huge game at the dish with five home runs coming from the meat of the order. Eight of their nine batters from their starting lineup got at least one hit in the ballgame. One of Florida’s freshman pitchers had a dominant performance out of the bullpen and helps Florida secure the win.
Alabama Crimson Tide
The Alabama Crimson Tide had a rough Saturday night at the ballpark versus the Florida Gators. Right-handed pitcher Brock Love got the start and loss for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Love threw three innings allowing eight hits, seven runs, no walks and four strikeouts. Reliever Dylan Smith also had a rough night against the Gators as he pitched one inning allowing two hits, three runs, one walk and two K’s. At the plate, Alabama struggled just as much as their pitching only getting four hits on the night. Drew Williamson went 1-4 with a solo home run. Johnny Hawk went 1-2 with two base on balls. Joe Breaux and Morgan McCullough both went 1-3 with base hits.
The Florida Gators extend their winning streak to three games with another win against the Tide. Right-handed pitcher Tyler Dyson got the start for the Florida Gators. Dyson threw 3.1 innings allowing three hits, two runs, three walks and three strikeouts. Freshman Christian Scott got his third win of the season as he was excellent once again this week. Scott pitched 4.2 innings allowing one hit, no earned runs, one walks and five strikeouts. The Florida Gators lineup had a night to remember as they ripped the Alabama Crimson Tide pitching staff. Brady McConnell had a career night as he went 3-5 with two home runs and three RBIs. Jacob Young went 2-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Nelson Maldonado went 2-4 with a two-run home run and Wil Dalton went 2-4 with a two-run home run.
The Florida Gators will look to complete the sweep against the Alabama Crimson Tide Sunday afternoon. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Jack Leftwich will get the start for the Florida Gators.
