Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators have landed one of the top offensive lineman in Florida. Three-star offensive guard Richie Leonard has verbally committed to the University of Florida. Leonard makes his commitment to the Florida Gators after taking an unofficial visit to UF on June 1st. Richie Leonard is the 18th commit in the Florida Gatos 2020 recruiting class. He is the eighth offensive commit in the class with Gerald Mincey, Jonathan Odom, Anthony Richardson, Leonard Manuel, Jovens Janvier, Jeremiah Johnson and Jaquavion Fraziars. He’s also the third offensive lineman in the class with Jovens Janvier and Gerald Mincey.

Richie Leonard is a three-star offensive guard out of Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Florida. The newest Florida commit was one of the most sought after offensive lineman in the state of Florida. During his recruitment, Leonard received 26 offers from some of the top tier football programs. He has offers from Florida. Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Miami, North Carolina, Oregon and Tennessee. The Cocoa offensive lineman is one of top ranked recruits in his position. On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Leonard is the 712th ranked recruit and the 43rd offensive guard in the country. On Rivals, Leonard is the 39th ranked offensive tackle in the country and 69th ranked recruit in Florida. John Hevesy, Florida’s offensive line coach, was Leonard’s primary recruiter in Leonard’s recruitment.
Richie Leonard is a 6’2” 320 pound offensive guard. After watching his tape, you can see that Leonard is a big, physical offensive lineman that plays with a nasty attitude. Leonard is a very strong recruit but could also get stronger at the next level. He does need to shed some bad weight but he already moves pretty well. He’s a good athlete and will be a good pulling guard at the next level. This is a good pick up for John Hevesy and the Florida Gators offensive line.
