
Sophomore Tommy Mace pitches the first complete game of the season for the Gators in the 3-1 win over Alabama.
The Florida Gators get the first win of their three-game series versus the Alabama Crimson Tide. This was also Florida’s second win in conference play as there only other conference win was against Mississippi State. The player of the game Friday night was without a doubt Tommy Mace. The sophomore right-handed pitcher Tommy Mace pitched an absolute gem for the Florida Gators. Mace threw his first complete game in his collegiate career. Jacob Young and Brady McConnell both had big nights for the Florida Gators lineup.
Alabama Crimson Tide
The Alabama Crimson Tide fought hard but were not able to get the win against the Gators. Starting pitcher Sam Finnerty got the start and loss for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Finnerty threw four innings allowing five hits, three runs, three walks and two strikeouts. Junior pitcher Casey Cobb had a nice outing out of the bullpen as he pitched two innings allowing one hit, no runs, one walk and two K’s. At the plate, the Alabama Crimson Tide’s bats were silenced by the brilliant performance from Tommy Mace. Junior Kolby Robinson went 1-2 with a RBI single and base on ball. T.J. Reeves and Drew Williamson both went 1-3 with base knocks.
Florida Gators
The Florida Gators were back in the win column Friday night thanks to their Friday night pitcher. Starting pitcher Tommy Mace got the start and win for the Florida Gators. Mace was dominant on the mound as he threw all nine innings allowing three hits, one run, one walk and seven strikeouts. The Florida Gators had a decent night at the dish as they scored three runs on seven hits. Leadoff hitter Jacob Young had a nice game as he went 2-4 with a double and base on ball. Brady McConnell also went 2-4 with two singles and a run scored. Nelson Maldonado went 1-3 with a single and two RBIs. Jud Fabian and Austin Langworthy both got singles in the series opener versus Alabama.

The Florida Gators will look to clinch the series win tomorrow night against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Junior right-handed pitcher Tyler Dyson will be on the mound for the Florida Gators.
